Denny Read-a-thon
The Read-a-thon, Denny PTSA's largest fundraiser of the year, is closely aligned with Denny International Middle School's misson as a "reading school".

Students will receive information about the Read-a-thon in October and will set reading goals with their Language Arts teachers. The month of November is Read-a-thon month. Pledges ($) based on the number of books or pages the students have read will be collected and turned in at the end of the month.

For more information contact one of the Read-a-thon Co-Chair, Nicole Sipila or Karen Vegors.
Announcements
November is Read-a-Thon Month
November is Denny I.M.S Read a Thon month.  This is the biggest PTSA fundraiser of the year.  Students will work with their literacy teachers to set reading goals for the month.  At home students should collect pledges of money from friends & family toward those goals.  If every student receives a minimum pledge of $10 we will raise $9000 toward teacher and club requests.  Last year the money was put toward fulfilling teacher requests for items and experiences Denny students would not have otherwise had.  Students will earn chances for prizes by meeting reading goals and by receiving a minimum pledge of $10.

Look for the Read a Thon pledge envelops to come home the last week of October!  Any questions please contact co-chairs, Nicole Sipila at alipis@clearwire.net or Karen Vegors at kvegors@gmail.com

Also, save the date for the kick off to Denny's literacy week at Barnes & Noble, Dec. 14th. That night join us for a Denny Orchestra & Vocal choir performance, a preview of Art by Denny students and kids reading in the store.  A percentage of money spent at Barnes & Noble the week of Dec. 14th through the 21th will be given to Denny!
