Last week of Read-a-Thon / Volunteers needed
We are moving into the last week of reading for Denny's Read-a-Thon. Check in with your scholar on how they are doing for accomplishing their reading goals. Envelopes with collected pledges will be turned in Monday Dec. 1 - Dec. 5th. Make sure to collect from relatives over the Thanksgiving break.
We need (3-4) volunteers to help with collecting pledge envelopes each day afterschool that week. (12/1 - 12/5) If you can spend 20min going to classrooms to help pick up envelopes please contact Nicole Sipila firstname.lastname@example.org
Denny Book Fair @ Barnes & Noble kick off night is Thursday Dec. 4th. 6:30. A percentage of purchases made from 12/4 - 12/11) will go to Denny. We need greeters, help with orchestra set up & take down, and to help with directing parents to Staff Book Wish Lists.
Yep! You can do good twice. Buy a book that a staff member needs for their classroom and have part of the sales go to Denny.

November is Read-a-Thon Month
November is Denny I.M.S Read a Thon month. This is the biggest PTSA fundraiser of the year. Students will work with their literacy teachers to set reading goals for the month. At home students should collect pledges of money from friends & family toward those goals. If every student receives a minimum pledge of $10 we will raise $9500 toward teacher and club requests. Last year the money was put toward fulfilling teacher requests for items and experiences Denny students would not have otherwise had. Students will earn chances for prizes by meeting reading goals and by receiving a minimum pledge of $10.
